Once again, it is time to initiate the planning phase of our annual ANF summer hang (a.k.a. MidHHA). This will be our fifth year at this location, and every outing has genuinely been more fun than the last.

Between the Minister Creek hiking loop and convenient creek access for fishing, there are plenty of activities to keep you occupied if you’re motivated to do more than just eat and snooze your way through the weekend. (Plus, if you keep a sharp eye out, you never know when you may spot a girl dressed up like a coyote sauntering through the woods! )

As before, we’ll be camping a short ways off the trail leading south from the parking lot on Rt. 666 (directly across the road from the actual campground). This is essentially car camping, so those who are not of the hiking persuasion are able to join in the fun.

The hang will officially begin on Friday, but (as in previous years) several folks will likely be arriving Thursday to stake out our area and get an early start on the festivities. Like last year, we're discussing paddling another section of the Allegheny River early Friday morning, or potentially even camping on the river Thursday night and heading to Minister Creek afterward. If that's something you'd be interested in, sound off on your preference.

Whether you're a veteran hanger, newbie, ground dweller, or even you just want to drop by and check out what hammock camping is all about, ALL ARE WELCOME!
