Don't know how long it lasts, but just picked up a load of 7/64 amsteel from Go2Marine. $.18/ft. for 7/64". Free shipping over $99... and don't know if it's just for new customers, but used "welcome-2019" and got a flat $10 off my order (which a little more than covered the shipping since I didn't spend over $99).
Not sure if that's a "fantastic" deal, but "seemed" pretty good, to me.
