OK, so winter is approaching in North Carolina and I do most of my camping with Boy Scouts so I generally focus on privacy and comfort.

Thinking about building a monster winter tarp that would allow me to walk under my tarp without hunching over too much and still reach all the way to the ground with an internal pole mod for extra room. This would use 3 lengths of 1.6 silpoly using a modified french flat felled seam to bind the 3 lengths together.

12 foot long, 14 foot wide with doors and internal pole mod.

I have another winter tarp made from 1.1 XL silpoly (from Ripstop) that is 12X12 with doors and internal pole mod. Works great but I either have about 1 foot gap at the bottom or need to hunch over more than I want.

Any thoughts? have I gone one step too far over the edge?
