There are multiple ways to get to Lower Forge via hike:

Batsto Village to Lower Forge via Batona Trail - 7.3 miles - this is my least favorite route because the ticks are nasty.
Batsto Village to Lower Forge via Mullica River Trail - 7.3 miles - if I'm hiking from Batsto Village, I usually go this way since a lot of it is road hiking and the ticks aren't as bad.
Atsion to Lower Forge via Beaver Pond Quaker Bridge crossover - 5.7 miles - nice hike, mostly open road with not too many ticks.

There are a bazillion ways to shorten/lengthen this particular hike. You can hike along Quaker Bridge road which will shorten it. Or you could hike east from Atsion along the railroad tracks, take a right (south) and hike down to Lower Forge. I haven't gone this way but monkenynono has.
