I have a friend that wanted a Bridge but all that were available would not work for a guy as big as he is. So, I decided to try to build one for him patterned after Grizz's Ariel.

So here is my take on a big guys bridge. It's a Double layer, 2.2 Hex70 body with a 1/8 in Amsteel suspension. Its sized for a guy who is 6ft 8in and will still give him a bit of wiggle room.

It's got a pocket built into the head end using netting to hold assorted goodies and uses 40in spreader bars. In the photo's, I'm using my hiking poles to test the lay.

He wanted to be able to insert a sleeping pad in case he has to go to ground, so I added cam snaps to be able to seal the foot end when a pad is being used. I have an old 24in wide pad I haven't used in years, and tested it, Wow... it was really comfortable.

It came in at a hair under 23oz's, so it's no Ultra-light hiking rig but for car camping with a pad, I think it will work great, hope he likes it...

If not, I'll keep it

Cheers!
