hello fellow hangers,

I'm not really new in the hammock world, but gone through a rather long (sometimes painful) trial and error way... even almost gave up this autumn on a last desesperate attempt to add it to my ''flexible-4-season gear pack'' where I got butt frozen and soaked again...

hammock sucks:

- you can hang anywhere... but spend the evening on sloppy rocks or brambles!!
- you can hang anywhere... where 2 hanging point are perfectly spaced and orientated
- you can hang anywhere... but have to carry tons of extra gear and ropes to get 1/2 of the protection you'd get on the ground...

i'm a very enthousiast and fullfilled ground-tarp camper... why the heck should I bother ?
i'll keep it for garden naps and a few summer nights, that's it!

let's go back to the good-old-bombedproofed way!!

or my favorite all times:

...

... but...

I still felt sad about this partial failure, I hate blaming a piece of gear, when I know Inside that roots cause is almost always the way you use it!!

started to think about pro and contras, I wanted winter insulation, but no extra gear

>flat inflatable mat+bivy bag+survival cover as ''underquilt''

i struggled every time with the tarp set up and got poor protection / Wind-kite effect

>started to train at each bivouac A-frames and flying diamond... actually start to enjoy it quite a lot

I then started to seek for places where it was not possible to ground camp...

and well...

slowly but surely...

until last saturday... where i kind of marked a new step in my outdoor life:

such a marvelous night and waking up!!!!!

i'm now officially in love with the system... and have so much to learn!!!

see you there then^^

Ben
