Is it better to hang from eye bolts perpendicular or parallel? I'm thinking if I should put them on opposing walls, or if one should maybe go inside a closet, and have the suspension "wrap around" the corner, pulling more perpendicular to the bolt.
I use the ENO kits and one of them has slightly damaged the drywall. I believe it was my fault for tightening it too much. The slight dent is nothing that can't be repaired VERY easily with some drywall patch once the hanger is removed.
The ENO hanger is basically this rock climbing bolt hanger:

I installed it vertical as in the above link. Once used, it rotated about 20 degrees. The next set I installed, I left it slightly loose and no problems at all.
It does say on the instructions not to tighten it too much.

mine are similar, 2 lag 5/16" lag bolts at a length of 2 3/4" in a 2x4 on both ends, no problems. not the prettiest thing in the world, however. function over form i always say.

New Titanium bling needed here
I just remembered I have two of these left over from something else. Crap! I just purchased the Eno kit, but now I'm worried about those brackets rotating on the wall. I'm not sure what keeps them from doing so. I'm thinking these would be better with 2 big screws on each. Hmmm...

I ended up using these. And am very happy with them. I didn't use the pan to recess the D-rings. I just went through the drywall and into the stud on one end and a beam on the other with a pair of like rated spax screws at each anchor.
I wanted a higher weight rating for frequent double occupancy. The price is right.
I don't find the look offensive enough to worry about hiding them. Besides 90% of the time they are rigged up plus they're in a low traffic area.

Mind over matter,
if you don't mind, it don't matter
