The rain fell, the sun came out, the hangers hung, and a good time was had by all.
In a year where the snow was rare, the fellowship wasn't. The Cascade Hangers held their 4th Annual Winter "YETI" Hang January 23-25, 2015 at Frog Lake Camp ground in the Mt. Hood National Forest. We had a record crowd this year with 21 hangers. Once the hammocks were hung a great time was had.
Friday we started with a light drizzle. Enough snow to pull the pulks in and the crowd started arriving. A nice fire greeted everyone as they arrived. The rain fell pretty good Friday night, but Saturday morning we awakened to a beautiful Northwest January morning. The sun popped out and stayed with us the rest of the weekend.
Saturday was host to day hikes, naps, and of course checking out gear. That evening we held a fantastic pot luck dinner. Dutch ovens were cooking up some great grub and the table soon filled with yummy delights.
After dinner our customary White Elephant gift exchange spread cheer, laughs and stories.
Then it was fellowship time and lots of fun.
Sunday we packed out and went to the Huckleberry Inn in Government Camp for an awesome breakfast. Saying our good byes till next time we parted ways with memories of another wonderful weekend in the hammock!
Thanks to everyone that came out! We had a blast!
