So, got my HH Hex tarp back from 2QZQ this past weekend, and finally got a chance to take it out and do a quick hang of it to see what it looked like.
Basically nothing special. HH Hex 70D poly coated tarp to begin with. Asked Tim & Donna to add doors...nothing new, they do this all the time. Same with the pole pockets.
But, me being me...I wanted a tarp that's pretty much bombproof. So after giving it some thought, I asked them to add on velcro to the doors, so that I could pretty much seal each end off completely in high winds/rain/snow.
It came out GREAT. The ends seal very well, with just a slight gap for the hammock suspension to go through. I forgot some extra cordage to tie down the end doors with, so had Weasel hold them closed for the pics.
The doors roll up and 'hide away' when not in use...and...the whole thing STILL fits into the HH snakeskins.
This is it. With the Mod #4 on my explorer, I'm very satisfied with my gear. Four seasons should be no problem at this point. Had no issues in Jan at 22deg F with some pretty strong winds...and with these doors on, I should be good for much lower.
Very happy with this!
