I have yet to test it but it does have potential
If it jams you can also use the double loop method that cant jam

I'm glad you posted this. Had this thought this morning as well. Wasn't sure if this would work or not. There might be some concern with the double loop popping off. Could add a "fisherman's" knot slid up to lock it in.
I don't have any trees to hang, my setup is the "simple" stand in the garage and for now am using the kola's, which are super simple, just a little hard on the amsteel tho.
TO EACH THEIR OWN....
I'm liking the idea of replacing the continuous loops on the hammock with this.
You can either use a becket hitch with webbing or connect it to a whoopie or UCR.
You'll probably need some sort of sliding knot on the whoopie to keep it snugged up against the knot on this.
Yea I've used a short section of paracord done up in a cobra knot as a slider. Looks fancy, keeps things snug.

This may or may not spur someone's one's thinking...https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...Line-End-Biner .
I have only used it on tarps so I don't know how it would do in a hammock suspension if used to connect the hammock to the tree strap.
I make a whipping knot for my sliding knot, out of lash-it. I used Professor Hammock's (Grizzly Adams on HF) tutorial as detailed in this video at 3:31

Works really well!
