What is the lightest weight fabric that could safely be used for a hammock? I'm about 190, and am looking at RBTR 1.0 HyperD for an ultralight hammock. Currently I use an ENO SN, and a DIY 1.9oz from RBTR. Thanks for any input!

You can definitely use the HyperD 1.0, I have 10+ nights in a diy single layer with no issues, I'm north of 220lbs.
Have you seen Dream Hammock's comfort chart: http://www.dream-hammock.com/ComfortRating.html ?
There are UL hangers who have made hammocks from Argon 90 or Momentum with varying success. However, the general consensus in the forum seems to be that reliable single layer hammocks need to be made of something heavier than 1.1oz ripstop. I haven't heard much about 1.0oz HyperD single layer hammocks, yet - which is probably a good sign. Afaik Dream Hammock make 1.0oz single layer hammocks from HyperD, but not from 1.1oz ripstop - so I guess the HyperD is tougher.
For me comfort is more important than weight, at least if more weight just means a couple of ounces.
I have 5 months everyday in a gathered end DIY 30d 1.1oz ACU from Magna. Not a single problem.
The 11' x 68" wide hammock with knotty mod, CRL and double end stuffsack weighs under 8 oz.
I'm 200lbs and 6'1"
The 1.0 HyperD is definitely a good choice and comfortable even at 190. I wouldn't want to go any lighter.
Just to second the opinion-
210lbs- using bridges out of HyperD 1.0oz calendared fabric, 30+ nights
I even put a hole in one and slept 7 nights with a hole in it.
I absolutely LOVE the feeling of HyperD 1.0.. I have some 1.6 on the shelf for a future hammock but even the feel there isn't the same as the 1.0.
corrumpu, is your HyperD the calendared or non-calendared version?
