No signs,no fees,no rules, nobody. My kind of campsite.
Just beautiful, looked like an excellent time. Extremely jealous

While you folks were paddling Killarney, I was up above you, hiking the LaCloche Silhouette Trail with two partners. It was tough at times for this body that’s been around the Sun 69 times.
I’ve done perhaps 30 canoe trips over the years in this Jewel of Ontario parks. Love it! This was my first hiking trip. Loved it!
Lots of steep ups, and steep downs, some over rocks, some over very slippery Hemlock roots.
Saturday night we were on Shiguag Lake, about a third of the way around. Stunning sunrise!
We climbed up The Waterfall, and didn’t slide down The Slide. Phew!
I love the barren quartzite balds along the northern ridge.
Monday afternoon’s thunderstorms chased us off Silver Peak, and we had to improvise a campsite. My partners got soaked, and stayed soaked during the all-night lightning fest. My Hennessy for the win once again! I went to bed wet, and was dry and warm in a few short hours, comfortably slumbering the rest of the night. The water pouring off the Peak was remarkable in the morning, this torrent having been a trickle the previous day.
The lookouts from the top of The Crack were stunning!
Such a wonderful — and humbling! — experience!
Thanks for those pics Traillium! Being my first time in Kilarney I had an idea to do a day trip to the crack but the wind and weather kept me back. Hopefully next time.
Don't let life get in the way of living.
Nice pics, Traillium!
A lotta ins... lotta outs... lotta what-have-you's
Ditto! Killarney in the fall is such a beautiful place.
