Seam sealing Suoerfly panel pulls = inside only as Warbonnet video shows or outside also? Also, dilute with mineral spirits I read is done by many to thin out silicone, is this recommended?

I just did the inside and used the small tube that came with my tarp. I did not thin it.

Just make sure you smash it in good, and don’t forget to seal under the little flap of grosgrain. And I had leaking so ended up doing the outside also. The ridge line and all. I did thin out the silicone for the outside. Once it leaked on me I didn’t mess around after that. Good luck
I don't have the super fly, but on my tarps after I had leaks on the Ridge-line I also did both sides. I don't worry as much about the bits that aren't directly over my hammock since if I'm under the tarp I'm usually in the hammock and when I'm not in the hammock I'm not usually under the tarp.
incidentally, when I did have the leak on the Ridge-line it didn't appear until I had a really good 3 days of heavy downpours, and it leaks the whole time and drenched all of my gear. this was months after I started using it, and I thought that I had seam-sealed it well. it had going through a lot of light rain without any issues and it wasn't until the heavy rain when it started drips. and of course you don't notice the drips until it starts seeping through your top quilt which means that your top quill is already drenched by the time you figure it out. also because it was Heavy rain for 3 days I couldn't fix it until the tarp dried out

This is anecdotal but I had serious leaking at side pulls on new silpoly Superfly tarp even after applying the included silicone. Contacted WB and even received kind support directly from Brandon and I couldn’t identify any missteps.
Therefore, I researched and ultimately took a different tack by following procedure in the 2nd link below which does involve thinning.
Used Seamgrip+SIL which is compatible with SilNylon or SilPoly.

I was so traumatized from the previous leakage I applied sealer to both sides. Final outcome was perfect and no more leaks at the side pulls during heavy rain.

I believe most the “thin it out” recommendations have to do with “off market” sources of silicone. The tube supplied by WarBonnet, and what you’d buy at REI, are already formulated to direct application.
HOWEVER, Hiker_Section mentioned SilPoly. NOTE that SilPoly takes a DIFFERENT SEALER than SilNylon. So make sure you are using the correct sealer for the tarp material.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

I dilute with mineral spirits 3:1.. to the consistency of olive oil.
Makes it less of a lump of seam seal and more of a nice thin layer that self levels.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....
