Hello
Can you point me in the direction of a DIY plan for either a Tropical or NX 250 style please. I love the look of these but too expensive for me to buy.
Thanks in advance.

IMHO, if you don't own a Clark you have no idea how loaded with features they are. My serious suggestion is to embrace the concept of delayed gratification, and save you $$$ up to get the real thing. CJH are so complex built, that you will drive yourself nuts trying to replicate one, and end up with an inferior waste of money. Keep an eye on the HF want ads. They do come uo now and then, but ya gotta act quick to get one when they do. Good luck.
Wow. That's not much help. Anyone want to share a few tips on their Clarks for those who don't want to spend their mortgage on a piece of material can experiment.
ice man is right. Clark hammocks are basically bomb-proof and I think you could arguably spend more trying to make one than buying one used.
They do come up occasionally here and on ebay, but the price usually remains pretty high.
OTH, if you want the "feel" of a clark at a reasonable price, DD gets close IMHO and you don't have to have any sewing skills.
You guys do realize you're responding to a 4.5 year old thread....right?
It's sorta like arguments with my better half, she can remember things we argued about 4.5 years ago and decide to resurrect it.

I like to call them Zombie threads, though vintage threads might be a bit kinder.

Nah, dude.
Vintage threads are the bell bottoms I have hanging in my closet.
