If you have more than one Tarp, I can see keeping suspension for hammock (an more than one hammock), suspension for tarp, and any necessary stakes and guys separate from the tarp/hammock itself. But you do need to remember to bring that suspension kit/bag. I tried snakeskin's but find it easier to stuff the hammock in a Bishop (double ended) bag rather than try to roll it tight enough to fit in the snakeskin's. Packs smaller in the bag too. I thought I'd try the skins for the tarp, but I need to understand folding the tarp on the line first, so it doesn't bunch up in the middle. I have figure-9's on split rings on the tarp guy out points. So it's a little bulky.

    My method:

Roll up tarp and stuff it in storage sack. Wind up ridgeline tightly around tarp stuff sack. This is much quicker to wind up this way than using the figure 8 hank, causes less hand cramps, and I have not had any problems with tangles when deploying the ridgeline.

Though, I wonder about those skins and the idea of just leaving it on.....

Ok, im missing something. I use the HH hex tarp and snake skins, a continuous ridgeline with a dutch biner and stinger. Where's this 40' hank of cord supposed to tuck into? Anyone have any pics?

a lot of us have mountain Goat snake skins which have a pocket at each end for stowing your cordage. Very handy.
