I have a friend who grew up in NS and now lives near me in the Blue Ridge. I thought our fall colors on Skyline Drive were something to brag about, but he says Virginia is a total yawn compared to the beauty of NS in the fall. I hope you have a great time. Try some dulce, if you can find it.

Hurricane season?!? I think you are getting some bad information. Tourist season starts to die off after labor day. Kind of like everywhere else.

There is truth to N.S. being beautiful in the fall. That mostly refers to The Annapolis Valley though which is on the mainland but the island is nice as well.

However it is also very nice throughout the summer. People are swimming at the beaches from June to October.

    Cheers!

Nova Scotia is lovely. Or, get a slightly better jacket and head to Newfoundland and turn it up to 11!

I've been out there in September. It is beautiful and you should make reservations. We drive out to Prince Edward Island annually from Toronto through the States, and often in the fall.
Hotels in the U.S. and Canada through Vermont, Maine, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia are often tough to book due to the number of folks chasing the Fall leaf color show.
