    Zipper on a curve

Having never sewn a zipper before, I'm wondering how tight a curve can one achieve when sewing a zipper on a flat surface? I have a concept for making screened windows on an overcover.

My first thought was more like a V with a rounded corner, but started thinking the half circle would be more manageable.

I've never done it, but I would imagine a u would be easier. Probably have to make little clips in the zipper so it can conform to the curve easier. If you use smaller zipper I think it would be easier as well.

If the you use a coil vs vislon zipper you can get a tight curve. Prolite Gear has a great video on it. VISLON®(molded) vs. Coil Zippers: http://youtu.be/WBoqJKh7zqA

Depending on how the zipper is laid into the fabric, you can get a 90* or smaller, a U like in a daypack or a WBRR bugnet also. This works if the zipper is not laid flat. If so then a shallow U is what you want.

Coil zippers are the only zippers that will really take a curve from my experience. Make a gig for your plan and try it out. The smaller the zipper the tighter the curve. But I can't give you any guiding measurements
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Here are some shots of my second hammock. I used a zipper coil like rev recommended. I got it from DIY supply.

Here the net is tucked away in a pocket.

Last one of me and my son.

Take your time it's totally doable. This was my second full zipper hammock and it gets a little easier each time. Good luck and enjoy your project.
