I guess you where lucky Samsara. Would you have even thought to call animal control to see if they found Scooby? Do you think Scooby was trying to find you when she left the house?
On another note, I will be unable to attend the hang this weekend. Some personal issues have appeared and I am not free. I look forward to the next one. And of course happy birthday Grinder.
Yes, I actually did contact them and looked at their web site many times. But she wasn't picked up until late yesterday afternoon. I don't know what she was thinking... I've been told that some of the symptoms that I saw before she wandered off were signs of doggie dementia so she probably didn't have much of a plan

I'm very happy for Scooby, because she found you after a long trip to make sure you were alright. And for you, because you were reunited with a lifetime friend.
No one will fault you for staying home and loving on Scooby. That's what each and everyone of us would do as well.
