What to do with SF doors?

I picked up a superfly about a month ago on the forums, and I've had it out twice. Both times I ended up taking it down, and throwing my hex tarp back up simply because unless the doors are down, they're just in the way. I do use a pole mod most of the time, and found folding the doors in and running shock cord between the doors totally negated the increase room from the pole mod.

How do you deal with the doors when your not using them? And what do you use on the doors when they are down to facilitate quick in and out?

I just stake them out every time. I know a lot of people shrink at the idea of carrying the stakes and lines to do so, but that's how I deal with them.

I don't do any shock cord or anything special like that. If I want to close the doors I just pull them in and stake them. I don't seem to mind dealing with the doors as much as other people seem to mind. I just look at the little idiosyncrasies as part of the charm of a big ol' tarp with doors.

The videos I've seen people just tie the doors back to the pullouts.

I just use a little length of shock cord to attach them to each other on the inside of the tarp. I leave it like that when I skin it and I don't need to do anything when I take it down or set it up. It's also very convenient if I do have to use them...

I've got the HG Winter Palace which is about the same dimensions as the Superfly. I just tie the doors back (externally, not internally) onto the pullouts. As for quick in and out, I've never bothered with shock cord or anything else because if I'm using the doors, that means the weather is foul and "quick in and out" isn't foremost in my mind.

Is it not possible to tie the doors back externally with the pole mod in place?

You may be on to something, how about you mail it down to me and I will give it a series of test runs and report back to you. Jk, I will at some point have my own hammock with doors. I may make my own at aome point.

I just roll the doors on my diy winter tarp outside the the tarp and clip them or just wrap them up in their guyline that's attached to the tieout.

I shock cord them together like you do, but I do so outside the tarp instead of inside.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

On my winter tarp I roll the doors up and they are held inplace by two 1/16" shockcord loops with a button also shockcorded on the seam of the door to tarp edge.
No stakes just 1/8" shockcord with mittin hook clipped to the corner D-ring.

No picts of the doors rolled and buttoned, sorry.

I don't have a pole mod, and I haven't even gotten my hands on my new SF yet, but I've been spending so many hours on the forums I figured I'd weigh in. Grain of salt...

That said, I think folding them outward and clipping externally sounds like the way to go. The only downside I see is that the interior of your tarp might get wet if it starts raining while you're away from camp and your doors are stowed.
