Awesome trip! Great weather, spectacular fall colours, good food and good company. Another one for the books! Here are a few pics. My camera is old so the pics aren't the greatest but hopefully others will post some. Looking forward to Chard's report as always. Thanks to all who helped make this trip so enjoyable and so memorable.

More to come
Fantastic weather for the trip. Hope you guys had the usual funness even without Chard's typical weather.
Should be happy that you didn't go in Saturday. One of the rangers told me there was a 15km line up of cars at the west gate to get day pass permits.
What time did you guys head out on Sunday? Was up on Booth's rock around noon and saw a flotilla of canoes heading out that I thought could have been you guys.

We were definitely in that flotilla. Most of those canoes were from a school trip. Some of us were ahead and just behind them coming into the narrows. As they landed they quickly stacked up their canoes, threw their packs on the bus and booted out of there. We did the Barclay Estate and Booth Rock hike on Saturday (along with thousands of others)
A lotta ins... lotta outs... lotta what-have-you's
Nice picture keg! Too bad you couldn't come out on this one. Hope you had a good trip.
Me, Ryvr and DanT8ro were driving along the hwy 60 corridor between 1pm and 2pm and all the lots for the dat trails were full with tons of cars parked on the shoulder of the hwy on both sides. There was a long line of cars probably a Km long at the West gate. There were also a few accidents. Lots of people were crossing the highway as well. Overall, it was not a good day to be heading into the park or trying to get out on a trail. I'm happy we were enjoying the fall colours in peace and quiet.

Lol, I know what you mean. I used to always go the Portage store for a burger after backpacking trips and would enjoy watching the renters struggle. I'm by no means an expert but I know enough of the basics. Some people just get turned around and its quite amusing. Kudos to them for trying it but safety should be their main concern and they should know how to handle themselves a little before heading out of the range of quick help.

I suggested we get out some paper and starting holding up ratings for innovative mounts and dismounts from the canoes...
Most never got more than a 100 yds from the dock but not for lack of trying. Paddling backwards around the bay was a newer technique that I'll have to try out sometime....
The posing for photograph stuff was also quite amusing.
Our waitress said that it's a continuous source of entertainment for the staff.
yah, yah, I'll get the pics off the camera soon!!
