I suppose you could cut them in half then hinge them like an attic ladder on the inside. Don't know how strong it be.
Just ordered mine too . . . would love to see some up close pics of attachment of hammock and tarps . . . I currently have tree straps and woopie hooks, but my hammock is an 11 ft Thunderbird with each end having a loop directly attached to the hammock. How are you guys connecting yours? Also curious about how to calculate the optimal length of the top pole and the tripod poles . . . help a bro out!

“A hanging, though, was something different. I got to thinking. We hadn’t never been to nothing just to have a good time. A hanging was special and we was all getting to go.”

I set mine up on my porch this evening. I larks headed whoopies onto the rope loop in the middle of the stand. When I applied pressure on the hammock with my hands, the top rail bowed up at the joint, and then came undone with enough force/weight in the hammock. Any ideas of why this result may have happened? Maybe I had the whoopies too tightL maybe my top rail is too long (14 ft cut in two sections)?
Just ordered one last night! Is it possible to hang my tarp without putting it OVER the conduit? I'm wondering, if I attach it to the same yellow cord the hammock is on, would that mess with the hammock hang/angle/etc?
I'd REALLY like to see a series of pics of a proper setup. When I put mine together tonight I had a huge sag where the to lengths of pipe come together. When I strung the hammock I expected it to tighten up. It didn't, in fact it pulled apart and both ends fell over upon sitting in the hammock. I experimented further by placing pressure on the hammock without actually sitting in it and the pipe came free from the connector. I did have the loops with the end plugs hanging straight down. What the heck am I doing wrong? When I watched the video I didn't notice much of a sag in the middle of the pipe. I also used the recommended dimensions, 6' legs and two sections of 6'6" pipe.
Thanks for any help or suggestions. I have also used the Turtle atand with no problems. Help!!
Oh yeah...what are the two little bungee loops all about?
