I saw a new top quilt manufacturer on kickstarter, Father Nature Outdoors. They have a pretty neat top quilt/camping blanket. Has anyone heard about them or this quilt at all?

Its basically a synthetic tq with a pad sleeve. I would rather go with arrowhead. I am all for people trying discover something new, I even like the concept of kickstarter.
Our cottege guys all deserve kickstarter money.
so whats neat about it ?
IMHO that sierra design is really cool but over priced but brought something new to the market
this seems like a typical synthetic but most likely very over rated in temp ? and lack of specific details about the build would make me not buy one

Hammock Forums is a Family-Friendly Site - No Profanity, No Flaming
Hammock Forums is a family friendly site. This means that our topics, language and treatment of each other are what you'd want your kids to see. We're not a bunch of prudes...we just think that the internet has enough places where that behavior is tolerated, and this particular site shouldn't be one of them. This is a great community where the norm is to support others in their ideas and projects, and not assume offense where none is intended...and therefore not to flame, call names, or create friction in our threads. Respectful disagreement is ok; disrespectful comments are not.
Please participate in accordance with these guidelines, and PM the mods with any questions.
Forgive me for not researching all the details and filling out a Venn diagram, but this doesn't seem to different from a therm-a-rest tech blanket with a snap kit in theory.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a new guy trying to offer something new to the market.
Am I missing something?
I'm just new to the hammock forums and camping in general I ran across this on kickstarter and was curious if anyone else had either.
I wouldn't call that a topquilt: it's a synthetic sleeping bag with pad options. Their website says it's made with the camper in mind, not hikers. I'd agree with that, given that it weighs 2.2 lbs. and only gets you to 30 degrees. It's also made with the ground-dweller in mind. For hammocks, underquilts are a better solution than a pad-centric sleeping bag.

When I originally ran across it on kickstarter there was on option to get it for $100. That was a price range that I was more comfortable with. Compared to a sleeping bag this was lighter than most but still heavier than a synthetic top quilt from Aarowhead but about $80 cheaper as well. I appreciate the feed back,
