There are a lot of different DIY designs for stands, and I've repeatedly dug through our archives trying to find that one cool one I remember seeing...
Thought I'd put together a list of the most popular and helpful stand designs y'all have come up with. Did I miss any?

    Tension Style Stands

    YATS (Yet Another Tensegrity Stand
    (based on Dejoha's design)

    Hinged Tensegrity
    (2x4 hinged tensegrity stand)

    Alamosa Portable Hammock Stand

    foldable wooden boat-style stand

    $25 Rabbit Ear

You should add Thumbs machined swing set stand and the Boonedox stand as IMO they are among the best designs out there.

Made the list, I feel like I'm standing in the company of Giants! I gotta say, I do like the Arc de Finn!
.... the Aardvark (earth pig)... a rather unremarkable creature whose sole claim to fame is that it is the first animal listed in the dictionary.

I just ordered a Boonedox Drifter today. I plan on using additional tie downs on the end(s) to eliminate rocking end to end and will probably suspend my tarp independently using extended hiking poles if they are long enough. I'll be using it strictly for car camping. It doesn't take of much more room than a typical camp chair and seems pretty simple to put together. I'll post up some pics and opinions next week.

Thumbs' is actually the first one in the Solid category, though I'll edit the title now to put his name in it. Definitely one of the ones I'm keeping my eye on!
