Cool ⎈ Hello Everyone - Michael from Boston, MA ⎈

Hello everybody! My name is Michael and I am new to the forums, but a seasoned survivalist and outdoor enthusiast. A couple months ago, I got into hammock camping after watching some of Shug's hysterical Youtube videos. I learned all about the many facets of the perfect hang, which I'm pumped to try for myself.

I'm excited to learn more about some of the challenges that Hangers have to face, particularly in the winter months. I hope to gain lots from this gracious community, as well as give back as much as I can.

A little background: I am originally from NYC, but I lived in the San Fransisco Bay Area for awhile, where I honed my outdoor skills. I recently moved back to the East Coast, to Boston, MA. I'm very much looking forward to exploring the incredible White Mountain National Forest of NH.

Since Winter is approaching, I just picked up a HammockGear Incubator 20. I've got some of other implementations in mind for my system, which I will turn to you guys, the HammockForums, for advice.

So great to be here and happy hanging!

    Cheers,
    Michael - aka NovoxJinx

Howdy and welcome! We used to live in SF area (Marin County) and in Boston (North End) as well. We cut our backpacking teeth in the Whites then transferred out west. We moved to the southern Appalachians for a longer hiking season. Looking forward to seeing your system.

Oh, no kidding! Marin County is beautiful. I haven't been to the North End yet, but I hear that the Italian food is incredible there...

It's very encouraging to hear that you spent a lot of time in the White Mountains. Hopefully I'll be able to get a video of my rig up soon. I just spent last night building a TurtleDog Stand because there are no accessible trees, here in Boston!

Welcome from Nashville! I was supposed to be in Boston (visiting daughter and son-in-law) yesterday, today, and tomorrow following a Maine AT hike, but alas, the trip got cancelled. Just hiked the AT through the Whites the last two Augusts. Pretty amazing up there! You'll love it.

    Thanks, Rain Man!

I'm sorry to hear that your trip got canceled. That's never fun :\ -- Your AT trek through the White Mountains sounds incredible! I'm so excited to try it.

    Warm regards,
    Michael
