    New Gear Order

Just ordered tarp sleeves from Kat at Mountain Goat aka Outdoor Trail Gear and also a gear organizer from 2QZQ. Getting ready for the fall/winter season and very excited.

Also went to REI for the Labor Day sale and used some of my member refund credit. I got a Sea to Summit long handled spoon, a pack rain cover and winter rain pants.

Bring on the cooler weather! I'm ready.

So much better than sweating in the summer. Make any purchases lately?

What is everyone doing to prepare or what gear changes/purchases have you made?

Can't wait to make use of my Jarbidge UQ, Svea optimus stove, and heck, just using some of my old gear that has been stored during these hot summer months. When the weather cools down, I just might pull it all out and play with it like it was Christmas Day.

Ordered some Dutch Biners today for my UL set-up. Soft shackles are lighter but they pinch the UQ suspension.

Today I made some polycro peak beaks for the UL hammock for a little extra assurance under a minimalist CF tarp because it might rain some day!

Also cut down my bug net to make it lighter for my UL hammock. One end is sewn and the other has rock pockets. It now weighs 5.3 ounces rather than 8.

Started a winter quilts project with materials from Thru Hiker and suspension for it from Dutch.

My last hike in the heat two weeks ago was brutal. Can't wait for cooler weather.

I picked up a Jarbidge during the recent sale. I also have a full length New River UQ. Now the fun begins to test weight versus comfort and convenience during colder temps.

I almost got a heart attack thinking that was the weight of your whole set up. I was about to send you a blank check for that set up ml.

The problem for me is too much buying, building, and tinkering and not enough hanging.

So, this is the season to get out there more.
