Sounds like it will be a fun trip to break in my new hennesy. Provided I get the spousal approval, I am in.
Additionally, I will be coming from Seattle if anyone wants to do the carpool thing down I am game.

Hey, Jerry...is a date set for this hang yet?
BF
Hey, I'm on a bike tour and may be in the area around those dates it's a little far out to tell. But if I am I would like to come with. I did the MN Frozen Butt Hang last year so I feel pretty confident in my gear down to -25F. But just for kicks.... What kind of weather do you get that time of year? I did a weatherunderground.com search and I couldn't get to close to the mountain and I don't know how far up you go. How deep do you expect the snow to be? Anything else weather wise I need to know?
Last year I believe we got down to 26 or 27.
Itl be cool having people from out of state, hope you'll be able to come!
BigFoot et all...
Lets go with the 23-25th of January. That's the weekend that we did it last year and I think that worked well.
Besides.. I know that there is no such thing as a perfect date, someone will not be able to be there for whatever reason.
With this much lead time, pinning the date on the wall may make it easier for everyone to plan.
Sooooo loooking forward to it!

I guess I meant 16 or 17
Just did some checking on weather patterns on Mt. Hood in January.
Average temp in January is: 30.2
High: 36.6
Low: 23.9
Highest Recorded: 63
Lowest Recorded: -7
Average Snowfall in January: 23 inches.
I remember last year getting down in the teens, but it was real nice during the day.
Pray for snow and cold!
Think we will have a good winter this year, we are due.
Ready for some winter camping!!! In the words of the immortal Shug.. Whooo Buddy!

Thanks everyone, sounds pretty good. Maybe I'll get my winter UQ and UQP and then go will my 20* TQ with a bag liner if I need. Maybe even a frostbib. I'm sitting here in Helena, MT today and we are getting snow, its 33*. Really makes you start thinking about winter.
How deep is your snow get? Last year was the first time I had ever snow shoe'd and it was at the MN-FBH but we had snow that was waist deep in some parts (3'-4')
Last year we did not get too much snow. It was good enough to pull our Pulk sleds in, but snow shoes were it and miss. Had them in case, but really didn't need them.
We have had years where you better have them or develop good post holing techniques.
Hope you make the hang.. it's always a real good one.
