    Hi from Australia

I'm keen to get a hammock and I'm here to work out where to start.
I've been camping on the ground since I was first camping as a kid. Hammocks always seemed like lounge chairs until I saw a Hennessy online last week.

It won't be long and I'll give it a go. Where do I start, right here I guess.

    Cheers

Welcome from Philly, you could start with Shug's videos.
When I was a kid the only time we were in the house was to eat and sleep.

Welcome! I have some friends in Melbourne who were reluctant to return to your Winter last week after visiting (but they've lived here and it's similar to mine).

I'm looking forward to hanging in Melbourne and Tassie when I visit--still well over a year off *sigh*

Tassie is a magical place. If you need anything when you are over this way just let me know.

Welcome to the forum. Check out Shugs videos a noted above. Once you get your set-up dialed in you will abhor sleeping on the ground. I like Warbonnett gear, but all of the cottage vendors here deal in very high quality gear.

Thanks for the welcome. Montexan, I highly recommend Tassie. I can't wait to elevate my view next time I get to visit.

I guess I'm off to watch Shug's videos.

Hang at "the snow" for an epic hammock snow camping in oz pic! Speaking of elevation, part of my delay is figuring out a Mt. Cook summit. I was told you can't visit down there and not go to NZ. And of course I can't go to NZ and not stand on top of something tall.. So it'll be a while, but I look forward to some trip reports of your areas!
