Summer projects completed - bring on the cooler weather!

So I've spent the last 4-6 weeks on a few projects after catching the bug and joining the forums. Bear with me here, first time with a thread injector. Priority of requirements were cost 1st, bulk 2nd, weight 3rd. Pictures speak louder than words, so without further adieu:

    The comfort
    hammock.jpg
    Yukon Outfitters Double
    - removed extra fabric to reduce width (single now?)
    - replaced stock channel rope and hardware with Dynaglide soft shackles
    - Dynaglide fixed ridgeline
    - Dynaglide whoopie slings with polyester tree straps

    Biter protection
    bugnet.jpg
DIY Fronky-style bugnet, white Tulle from wally world

    Rain protection
    tarp.jpg tarp_tieout.jpg
DIY Sil Hex from plans at diygearsupply
    - 1.6oz Silver Mist sil 2nds from Simply Light Designs
    - CRL: 1.9mm tech line from diygearsuppply
    - Dutchware hook and wasp (too cool to pass up)
    - Niteize reflective cord for tie outs

    Under warmth
    underquilt_outer.jpg underquilt_inner.jpg underquilt_hung.jpg
DIY Down underquilt from CatSplat's plans/calculator (thanks!)
    - Orange and camo Argon 90 shells
    - Wilderness Logics down
    - 42" width, 60" length, 2.5 inch baffle height
    - 9 chambers, 9oz of down (~21% overstuff)

    Top warmth
    topquilt_top.jpg topquilt_bottom.jpg topquilt.jpg
Down top quilt purchased on the forum for the price of the down
    - Was planning on extracting the down to make my own
    - Instead added a new section to extend width (camo/orange Argon + WL down)

    Nicely done and good mods.

What is your expected low with this new rig? How low are you willing to take it, as is?
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

When I started out, my goal was 20 degrees for a comfortable low. After the overstuff and since the loft of the top quilt is about 3 inches, plus an underquilt protector, SOL Escape Bivvy, and insulated clothes, I'm thinking I'll be able to get to single digits, if not down to 0. Unfortunately, the first test of it below probably 45 will be on my Colorado elk hunt in a few weeks. Hope it works!

Very nice! How was the Tulle to work with? I've made the Fronkey bug net with noseeum and nanoseeum, so I have the Tulle version yet to complete the trifecta...

The tulle wasn't bad to work with. I haven't worked with noseeum, but I understand the tulle is much stiffer (and it was pretty stiff). I'd say it feels pretty fragile too, but it's very lightweight stuff. I'm pretty happy with it, but I do feel like the noseeum would be a better choice for the longer term.

Solid set up. Looks like you're ready to go out and give us a trip report. Tulle net looks great. Might have to make myself one of those.
The more I learn about people, the more I like my dog.
