Dutch Wasps to attach Tarp to Continuous Ridgeline

Thread 2 Dutch Wasps pointing inward towards themselves on the continuous ridgeline with the tarp in between them.
Larks head a short length (1'-2') of Lash It or Zing It to the tarp tie outs and then using the mechanical advantage of the Wasps you can get the tarp as taut as you like.
They wouldn't have to be positioned precisely and would be very adjustable.

I searched to see if anyone was doing this already and couldn't find anything. Has anyone tried this? Any negatives?

First negative for me would be the cost. Then ease of adjustability versus a soft shackle prusik
Third would be wear on the ridge line over time. Other than that, why not?

This idea is very similar in function to the Tarp Hanger from Tato.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

Prussik loops work just as well and are less fiddly. Stingerz have some benefit because you can clip things into them but wasps don't seem to have much going for them IMHO.

Indeed, that's what got me thinking about it. That and seeing Pizza's modification to his Tato Tarp Connectors. Tato's is more affordable ($13 vs $18) but the Wasp has the mechanical advantage, if that is even something that would be desired for tarp tension.

Just trying to figure out which would be easiest and most effective for all 4 seasons: Wasps, Tato Tarp Connectors or good ol' fashioned soft shackle prusiks.

Ridgeline wear is also a concern. But if you're already using a Wasp to attach the CRL to the tree, they'd probably all wear pretty equally.

I have a continuous ridge line all the way across like your pic.
I attach a dutch hook to the key ring on each end of my SF.
I then attach a prussik on each end of the center line near the key rings, and attach the prussiks to the dutch hooks.
Just be sure you have 5-6 loops on the prussik.

Since I am using only one wasp on my CRL, technically speaking, I am experiencing only half the wear of a 2 wasp system. In addition, I find that I adjust my tarp position via the soft shackle prusiks more frequently than I do my wasp. This could be because it's so easily accomplished- I definitely think its easier to maneuver the soft shackles than the wasp.

Good info right there, thank you.

I have one wasp currently too. I sanded it a lot where the CRL will be making most contact with it to hopefully minimize wear.

I made up a pair of soft shackles but I may need to make longer ones. I think I can only do 4, maybe 5 loops.

I have a continuous ridgeline for my WB SuperFly. It's similar to the picture above, except I have two soft-shackle Prusiks where the two D'Wasps are pictured. One end of the ridgeline has a Dutch Hook spliced onto a fixed eye that gets hooked onto another soft-shackle Prusik for adjustment. The other end is bare, goes around the tree, and then back to a Wasp threaded onto the ridgeline. Each end has good adjustability in case I need to create a 'V' for the hammock suspension to swing within; I have no trouble tightening the tarp on the ridgeline with just the Prusiks (each is four or five loops and holds well) and the mechanical advantage with the Wasp is very nice to have for tightening the ridgeline. The wear on the line is minimal.
