There is a difference with heat retention, with all fabrics. Having had light grey and dark burgundy hammocks side by side in the sun, the difference was obvious to the touch.
Have not measured it with the laser thermal device but I will at some point.
I do not know if there will be any difference between Argon, HyperD and regular ripstop but I would have to do a backyard lab test to be convinced.
The black black hammock has the inside layer as grey from ripstopbytheroll which is a nice rich grey, a little deeper, could be called charcoal but charcoal makes me think black. This hammock is destined to have an overcover and be a winter hammock.
