I didn't realize the guylines were reflective
Those reflective tracers did not work for me when I put the cord bunched together on top of my work table at night with no lights on. I shined a flashlight on the cord from several different angles and did not see any thing that appeared to be reflective. I am using bright yellow mason line for the side tie outs and one of my regular tarp ridge lines made from Zing It in place of the provided orange cord. Also getting rid of the cheap aluminum stakes for a couple of Ti ones. I may mod the tarp with some grosgrain tie outs as the metal grommets have a poor track record when used with tarps.

I was able to get my tarp back into the sack, but couldn't do so using a "stuff it" type approach. I had to roll it up to get it back in. I'd much rather have a stuff sack.
I could only get about 2/3's of the tarp back in the factory stuff sack using the stuff method. In the field I am not going to take the time to roll a tarp up to get it back into a stuff sack. I will be making a new one. Just have to find some dark ripstop nylon.

I just got home at 11pm, and couldn't wait to open my package from Woot. My first 3 thoughts: 1) Aw, it's not so hard to stuff the tarp back in the sack. 2) Crap. How the heck am I supposed to fit this wad of stakes and cord back in with the tarp? 3) Most definitely not the Bluewater reflective line I've come to love.

Glad to know I am not the only person having fun trying to get the tarp back in to its stuff sack.

Just kind of curious... I always fold/roll my tarps and usually can get them back in their bags. Is that not a common practice?

In general, we stuff, on the theory that a) it's faster, and b) you aren't repeatedly folding along the same creases, thereby placing increased wear on those areas. b) could be one of those hard-to-test/prove-but-makes-sense things, like whether you should put your tarp over or under a CRL, or whether pole mods can wear out a tarp seam or RL if they rest on it, though.

Thanks. I guess I'll do that now with my Chinook, but these are going to have to be rolled. I probably won't be able to find it the same way twice if I tried, though...

I'm thinking of getting/using a slightly larger stuff sack to put everything in together. I think the hammock will fit in a gallon ziplock bag to keep it separated from a wet tarp.

Cool! I love it here. Graduated from Tech, and moved back 7 years later and been here ever since. It's a nice little town.

i typically stuff with everything, however, if it's that hard to get the tarp back into the sack with the stuff method, i'll roll. also, if you roll it, roll the stakes and such IN the tarp and you wont have to worry about fitting that stuff into the sack after the tarp is in. i'm still waiting for my tracking number to kick in. i ordered on friday and it shipped that night. *antsy*
