Question Need a quick, light, and compact travel hammock setup

I've got several trips coming up over the next several months, none of which will afford me an overnight in my Blackbird, but, I should be able to squeeze a nap in from time to time.

What are some recommendations for ultra portable and compact hammock setups (hammock and rigging)? I'll be traveling ultralight style in Cambodia, and would love to squeeze a hammock into my camera bag.

    Thanks for suggestions!

How quick? Off the shelf GT UL or Nano. Can you swap suspension from BB? Good luck, sounds fun.

One place to order a rig from and get it really quick would be Simply Light Designs. Try a Streamliner single layer, the sides are cat cut which eliminates unnecessary fabric and reduces weight. Ask Jared what the shorted hammock you can get away with based on your height. I have a 10' Streamliner in 1.6, it packs small and weights 9 oz. not including straps. If your lighter than me and or shorter (I''m 5'11 @ 190lbs) you can go 1.1 and get by with a really small package. Ask if he'll make the bag smaller for your camera bag, Jared does a lot of custom & special order stuff. I'm very pleased with his attention to detail from his communication to the build quality and down to the speed of shipping.

Sorry about that. Yeah definately Jared if you can wait three days. I got my Tree Runner in 2-3 days. Didnt know if you needed it sooner. Like dirtwheels said he does custom work which will probably run you an extra day or so. Super fast delivery. You wont be disappointed with Simply Light Design. He responds to emails super fast too. I believe Thursday is the day he spends with his family, I wouldnt bother him then, although I bet he would respond.

The Hummingbird Hammocks look pretty small. I believe they are using Spectra on the suspension. I would think you would also want a bug net; Z-packs is selling ultralight netting at .7 oz/Sq.Yd. . Grab a cuben fiber diamond tarp and you might be able to fit that all in your camera bag.

I am just getting into hammocks so I don't know much, But I have recently been in contact with David at Hammeck, His breezy hammock is 10 ft long, with a choice of argon 1.6 and whoopie suspension weighing in at 12.9 oz, and cost 55 dollars. He has been extremely quick to reply to my emails !
