AL> Fall Hang and Hike in Bankhead and/or Sipsey Wilderness??

At the Spring Hang, we discussed doing another group hang in the Fall. I know it's only July, but September and October will be here before we know it.

SO, with hunting and football, what weekend will work for the majority?

Same hang location since we will probably have more than 10 people (the limit in the actual Sipsey Wilderness)?

Day hike locations? Big Tree (for those that have never been)? Riddle loop? Other ideas?

I'm just starting the discussion - who wants to be in charge? Squidbilly?

I'm good for September or the first of October. My daughter is getting married the last weekend of October so I will be very busy around that time,.

First or second weekend in October sounds good to me. Wolfpen Camp is a great place for a group hang, but we need to do it before opening of deer season. Don't know how many hunters actually use the camp, but I would think more in the fall than in spring.

Big tree for sure- via the shortcut from Thompson TH Riddle/Quillan loop sounds good too.

Remember bow season starts around the 15th if that matters. I don't really know anything about wolf pen. I'm still hoping to make it to one of these group hangs. Just hasn't worked out for me yet.

I would definitely like to make a fall hang in the Sipsey and hope its on a weekend I could come. The best weekends for me would be Sep 19-21 or October 10-12 (considering football schedules and family events). Go Vols!

Would love to join y'all! Semi-new to hammocking but have backpacked for years. Love Bankhead. I live in Decatur so I'm pretty close.
