    Waiting!

I have been backpacking for several years now. Just the other day I placed an order for a Warbonnet Blackbird 1.7 Single Layer (whoopie suspension)with the Couldburst tarp. I am beyond excited about it! I have a older friend who swears by his WBBB and he has finally convinced me to get one of my own. I am leaving for the 22 mile loop in the Linville Gorge on the first week of August. I am really hoping that everything will be here in time. I was wondering if anyone had any pointers or information that they would like to share with me about my new set up.

    Thanks, Coletrain

Sounds like a great maiden voyage for your new gear. I'm sure you are anxious to get your hands on it.
Only advice is to practice setting it all up before you go, and watching Brandon's videos again.
I hope we get to hear how the trio goes. Enjoy.

If you have a deadline, say, an epic trip to the Gorge, communicate the specifics to the vendor.

Often we customers do not provide adequate lead time with out orders. Websites indicate a 2-6 week delivery estimation but we order 1 week before a big trip. Vendors are faced with working extra hours or shifting production around to meet our needs and at the same time, keeping everyone else in the pipeline happy.

That said, the vendors here manage to pull off the impossible from time to time. So go ahead and contact Warbonnet and let them know about your trip date.

As for setup, make sure to review the videos on the Warbonnet site regarding hammock rigging. Foot end higher than the head end, tension on the ridgeline, etc. .

If possible, get a couple nights in your new hammock to dial in your setup, find the sweet spot and get comfortable top and bottom insulation options.

Congrats on your purchase, looking forward to a trip report.
