    New owner of NX250....hang question

Is it normal for the poles to "fall" when bugnet is not zipped...or is this due to my hang angle? I used a calculator and input all numbers correctly...but still seems kinda saggy.
    I used the 83% formula for the ridgeline....so 108 to 90.

Besides me figuring out the hang....this is real nice. Very well made. Little narrow and the inside pockets are kind of small....but all in all...its a solid system.

One piece z liner fits great too.

Just cant seem to get the poles to always sit upright...maybe thats normal....dont know.
    Thnx for any help.

It is normal for the poles to lean when unzipped. The NX250 is a great hammock, enjoy

Used to have one - if I recall, the poles will fall when the hammock is unloaded but will return to normal position when you get in.

What ridgeline do you speak of? When setting up mine, the hoops do droop a little, but I always set it up with the bug/stormshield closed. I always set it up a little high, with the foot slightly higher, and then get in and zip it up all the way. If it becomes too difficult to zip, then it's too tight, get out and adjust the whoopies. If there's sag in it then it's too loose, again get out and adjust whoopies. Lots of times I get everything set just right, but my butt is hitting the ground, at that point I just set my tree straps higher on the trees. It's not uncommon for me to use a stick to push the tree straps up especially at the foot end, depending on how far the trees are apart. I find 14-16 feet to be ideal, just remember the farther apart the trees, the higher the straps have to be. So first I set my sag, making sure the foot is slightly higher, and everthing zips nice and easy. Then I set my overall height, keeping my butt 12-16 inches off the ground. If the ground is not level, I set the head end on the lower tree and the foot at the higher tree. After setting up in a few different places you'll get the "hang" of it. Hopes this helps.

Oh, almost forgot. After my hammock is set just right, then I run the ridgeline for the tarp. I like it high, so I can stand inside. It's completely independent from the hammock.

    Ok, thnx guys.
I really just wanted to see if it was supposed to be that way. Ive been testing it out indoors, so I didn't have the bugnet and weather shield zipped up.
First night, I had it way to tight....that's why it felt so narrow. Last night, I had it set almost exactly like your pic, except the head end was too high so I was sliding down all night. I just adjusted that, now its all good.
    Thnx guys!

Gogrillz pretty much covered all aspects of a good hang for a 250, IMO.

One thing that I find an improvement is that I replaced the rope suspension with straps and buckles from Arrowhead Equipment. QED, and makes adjustment a breeze.

An indication that you have set too tightly is that the zippers will be difficult to get around the corners.

Oh, yeah. Up in the head end is a sewn-in loop that is a great place to attach a peak bag. Those Clark pockets are tight, as you noted.

Now your going to sleep like a baby, enjoy! @Jsaults that strap is for pulling yourself up if you slide down too much, but I find I don't need it if my set up is correct.

Yeah, I know about the strap's intended use, but as you said if properly set there is no need to do so. Slightly foot-high and all is well.
