    Kaq jabridge question...

So I'm thinking I need a jarbrige 3s (20*) next year. I'm swaying this way for 2 reasons. 1 is weight savings. 2 is I always seem to be out in the rain and I have concerns about rocking down.

I know the bridge is shorter (and I'm 6'3) but I tend to sleep better a little cold with my feet uncovered. And I don't do any winter hammock camping.

So. With the preface out of the way. What do ya'll think whose got one has it been a a performer for you?

Would it be recommended to just go full length down and get a uq protector?

I am looking at oz on this as well as packing size. Unfortunately cost is a factor as well

    Going under a wbbb.

If I go with a warmer mayhaps a 0* under quilt. Would I be able to get away with a lighter top quilt/sleeping bag? Say a 40* down bag and going into 10-20* overnights?

Never successfully hung with a pad (single layer hammock and too much restless sleep sliding it around) so I won't be much help. However, been thinking about the same UQ myself so I'll be following your quest for UQ goodness.

I initially used a pad in a single layer.. Kept wanting to roll up and bunch up.. In the dble layer its worlds apart. Still if I don't position it right I end up having to get out and redo it to prevent CBS.

Last trip I actually strung my hammock to tight and both my shoulders were incredibly tense and it kept me from a good nights sleep. By the time I crawled into bed I didn't want to get out to fix it though.

Got it with Apex. Perform well into 30's. Simple and effective adjustable suspension. Packs reasonably small

Good to heat. I've had great experiences with my AHE gear.

I've used a pad for many years and got a Jarbridge 3s w/APEX early last winter as my 1st UQ. I camp 20F and up - damp often thus the decision to use synthetic.
Jarbridge was used this winter (28F) up thru 70F this summer. It did well throughout these temps.
Jarbridge has a nice temp range for me here in Northern Va. You do need wind protection when below about 50F - a UQP or sock/pod.
I'm 5'9" and it covers ankles to shoulders. I use it with a mummy bag and fleece blanket in the winter.
For $100 - you can't beat it. If you get the 2QZQ UQP, get the $3 bridge option ($38 total cost). This adds 4 sets of tieouts that are real handy to close up the UQP in wet/windy weather - making the UQP almost a sock/pod.
Let me know if you would like more info. I'll add a photo of pack size if I can find it.

This is how it comes compared to a size 10 shoe - it will compress to about 1/2 this size. You can get the weight from the AHE site.
