That being said, assuming everything else is good, 350 lbs was a comfortable number I had in mind.

No plans to do a UL HyperD Sil at the moment. Several other projects have the funds tied up.

That said, to anybody who was wondering I was pretty rough on the hammock I was sent for testing. I hung it at funny angles, bounced in it, and just laid in it asleep for a few hours. 350 lbs as a weight rating on this fabric is pretty conservative in my estimation. I'm by far the biggest person to have been in the test hammock, but everybody that's been in it since I've had it (it gets passed around at about any hang I go to) has commented both on it's comfort and how surprising it is that it held me safely.

As far as the color, the only (currently) existing purple Hyper D hammock is in my possession and is going into the raffle at Fall Sprawl.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

I've personally never used a sock, but Dream Hammock offers a sock in 1.0 oz pure finish material, which leads me to believe the 1.0 HyperD with DWR and a light calendering (both of which slightly reduce the breathability) would work just fine.

Ok, received my samples and I like what I see and feel.

Smooth, light and feels strong, as much as I can tell from the sample patches.
The diamond weave is eye catching but it is the functionality that has my attention.
    A 300+ lb rating for a 1.6oz/sq yd fabric???

    This I have to try.

The black seems a little purple'ish to me. Or is it just a deep purple?
Anyway, I like it, kind of like the shiny color on the neck of a crackle.

The brown is just the shade I like but it's not up on the site??

I am going to make a hammock out of this stuff but I just finished a black and gray hammock so those colors are out, no brown available, do I go olive drab green or spectra yelllow? Tough call.

well, i just came from the doctors and weight wise i hit 409lb,, so if you want to really test it send it up here,,, no wonder my knees are screaming.

On another note, i can bounce around all day in my DL 1.7 BB XLC and never hurt it but i do want some purple to make one for my wife, she just told me to ask ripstopbytheroll if he could get it in purple as well as some sylnylon in purple,, she wants to do a purple tarp

Glad you like the samples! The 1.6 sample is deep purple, but unfortunately that color won't be in this first run. Working on getting the 1.0 listed. Still about 10 days from having that in stock though. I think the spectra yellow will be a great new color. I'll get a sneak peek when the new run of 1.9 comes in tomorrow and report back.

Haven't received my sample book yet, but ordered 4 yards each of OD, Orange, and Grey. I'm assuming the HyperD is dyed after being woven? I'd really love to see a contrasting diamond pattern done (black background, orange diamonds.. that type of thing) but that'd be a pain in the rear.

I await the postman with my 4 yards of Hyper D and can't wait to see pics/samples of the Spectra Yellow.

When the purple shows up, I have 3 standing orders for purple hammocks.

Well at this point I wish I had just ponied up and put it in this run! The suspense will just have to build for a little. In other news, I'm hoping to pick up the first 1.6 HyperD tomorrow afternoon
