New members of the Warbonnet tribe!

Our new 1.7DL WBBB (and our first hammock) arrived yesterday and I couldn't wait to get home from work. I strung it up between a couple of trees in the back yard and got a few minutes in it. The Mrs then wanted to try it and got a couple of hours in it. We'd planned on each of us spending the night in it before ordering any more, but just an evening convinced us we never want to sleep on the ground again. So this morning I placed an order for another BB and two Superflys, along with some other stuff. Something tells me we'll be using it again tonight.

Fun, can't wait to try my set out. I'm in all the way with xlc, superfly and yeti. Just really like the simplicity of the design and function.

I'm sure you'll love it. It took some time adjusting strap heights on the trees, strap lengths, and occupant position both fore and aft and diagonally to find the sweet spot, but with patience it's there. For now, we're just using some CCF pads.

Getting a new hammock in the mail is like being a kid on Christmas day. Enjoy and welcome to the forums!

64ºF low, 4 mph max wind tonight. The BB is between two trees in the backyard, a ThermaRest RidgeRest between the layers, and a cheap Coleman sleeping bag in the hammock. Cheap Wal-Mart tarp thrown over the hammock ridge line tied off with twine to a few 1/2"thick pieces of maple limb stuck in the ground (to catch any dew). Me in a t-shirt, shorts, and socks. Wish me luck!

Thanks! It IS great to be here!

Last night, it was 68ºF and I was burning up in about 10 minutes. The tarp came off and the sleeping bag went into a lawn chair next to the hammock in case I needed it, but I never did. I did put on a light flannel shirt in the middle of the night. The 72-inch long Thermarest RidgeRest stayed exactly where I put it between the layers, in spite of me rolling from one side to the other. The ridges in the foam helped the fabric under me breath and the pad helped flatten the leg area. OTOH, that pad may be 20 inches wide when flat, but turned into a 1 foot wide U under me. Appears there's room on either side of the 20-inch wide pad for 10-inch wide "wings." We can quarter the blue Wal-Mart CCF pad we have to get two pair. I slept very soundly, and woke up to a chorus of birds singing and squirrels scampering through the trees. That romantic scene was interrupted with the thought, but fortunately not the reality, of crap bombs from above. It was 66ºF and I was very comfortable--a great way to start a Saturday!

My Ridgerunner is arriving Monday. Won't see it until Tuesday. Ugh. I want it. But good news is that I will be out hanging for 5 days with it from August 3-7. Cannot wait!!
