I slept in my WBBB for the first time last night. Playing with it I found once you get in the pad stays put. Good if it's in the right spot, bad if it ain't. I was very comfy at 55F with my small thermarest and a 60F biker bag. I slept like a log (or, should I say tree since I was off the ground).

I used my thermarest half inflated ( I store it with the valve open so I just closed it and put it in), it seemed perfect. I centered the pad but, that wasn't right so I got out and put it in "crooked" with the coner just sticking out of the pocket just next to my head, it worked very well. I don't know about the acordian pads because, I've never seen one. Let us know how it works.
I'm a little bigger than you and the WBBB 1.7 double layer is very comfy, doesn't taco, doesn't stretch much and is easy to get in and out of. I'm in love with it so far.

here's some good ccf foam: 1/4" might go to freezing: http://www.foambymail.com/Minicel.html

here's some other stuff that's just about as good (warmth:weight) and about half the cost: (price is by the yard)
    http://www.a1foamandfabrics.com/site...5B848624430181

i think the mini-cell might be a little better, the cells sure are smaller, i did a little test with 1/4" pieces of both using frozen water bottles and couldn't really tell a difference in temp after 15 min or so of testing. the minicell seems a little nicer, both are about the same weight and about as warmth:weight. both are about the highest quality ccf i've found.

I've used the GG 1/4 ccf and cut it to 30x60". It does not move at all. I don't know the temp range yet, but I will by this Winter.

Has any one used the Exped Down mat 9dlx in thier bb? I also have a snugfit UQ and I was thinking about using my Exped Down mat along with the SFUQ when temps get really chilly. Thoughts?? Direct experience???

I have put my exped 7 (not as wide) in my double BB...no troubles. It will raise your center of gravity higher than your used to, so it will feel 'different' at first. I only slightly inflated it.

I'm sure others have used their exped 9 dlx...they will chime in

My pad is 25 inches wide also. I find that if I slide the pad so it is already up into the footbox, it works well for me all night with little or no sliding.

I DO find my left shoulder still gets a touch cool as it rests a bit off the pad. I tuck my 10" x 20" Gossamer Gear sit pad in place, and all is well.

I have the Exped Down 9 Deluxe and use it with my BB. I got cold butt syndrome when temps went below 20 degrees. Others have said that their Exped 7s takes them down to 20 so you may be able to go lower with the 9. I sleep cold. You should get a lot lower with the Exped plus your Speer.

After receiving my new WB I immediatly put the snug fit uq on and slipped in my Exped 9dlx. The WB promptly and easily engulfed the Exped mat with out a hitch. Fooled around a bit with placement and you are right, I think the combo of the snugfit and mat will take me well past the 20's, albit a bit on the heavy side, at what price comfort!

I haven't tried it myself, but my friend has a BA "clearview" 25x78

It's an especially tacky air mattress to begin with and he said he can't believe how well it sticks in his BB. I am anxious to try it....I like the idea of CCF, but I would rather carry a pad because:
    I HEART my CHAIR KIT!!!

....hard to justify carrying the pad just for the chair if I am using CCF
