Custom widths for quilts (burrow 20)? Ideally 58"

Does anybody know if they'll do a custom width on the Burrow 20? The widest they go is 55", but I'd love to get one in a 58" width. Any idea if that's doable? I sent them an email today, but have yet to hear back...so if anyone can chime in in the mean time, it'd be greatly appreciated.

I don't doubt it...I've heard great things about their customer service, I just figured that you guys have been around these parts for a lot longer than I, and might know if this has been done before.

Are you going to use that also for a ground quilt?
My hammock quilts are 40" wide and I am 6'-1" at 200 pounds.

They do custom work so the answer is probably yes. I wouldn't wait on the email though. They could be out displaying their wares at a show or trail gathering or just on a trip of their own. I'd call them directly if I were you.

Yeah, there are times (and places) that hammocks aren't feasible, so it'll be dual duty for me. I'm pretty broad-shouldered/barrel-chested, plus I'm a side sleeper that rotates between sides throughout the night, so I'd prefer to carry a bit extra than lose sleep fiddling with quilt placement.

I called them yesterday to no avail. It's a beautiful time of year, so hopefully they're out testing new products and enjoying themselves!

Just found this thread. I don't see the advantage of a wider-than-standard width for the Burrow, when used in a Ridgerunner hammock (I have both).

The standard size is wide enough to stuff well into the saddlebags on both sides (shoulders to below waist), if need be, or to wrap around you within the hammock. Not sure an extra three inches (or so) of width will make you any warmer.

Before adding width, I might add some extra down or maybe clip the Burrow's edges to the "gunnels" of the hammock, so it stays put over you. Best bet, if possible, might be to try one at a hang to be sure you really need extra width.

I just took out my burrow 0 over the weekend. I am 5' 7" 190 lbs. I opted for the wide 55” in the short. I have always used just sleeping bags before. I got tired of the extra weight for zippers and hoods. I was using a Marmot Sawtooth 15 deg bag. It is a nice bag, but weighs in at 44 oz. My Burrow 0 weighs with 2 extra oz of down wide size short length comes in at 29 oz. The weight savings in really amazing to me. I do wish I had gotten the regular length at 78” instead of the short. My feet are almost touching the end and it comes up around mid neck. I realized to late that I like to pull it up around the side of my head in real cold weather. The quality and material used by HG is absolutely top notch. Oh and talking to Adam on the phone I am sure he will build most any size you would want. Heck he built me a 24" x 24" topquilt for my small dog who always goes out and sleeps in my Ridgerunner with me. Weighs nothing and compresses down to a baseball size. They are a fantastic company.

FWIW HG is usually very accommodating. My TQ is a custom width. In hind site I don’t really need it as wide as I requested because I’m narrow and I NEVER go to ground. I love it though. HG is amazing to deal with. I will be a customer for life. I’m sure there are other cottage vendors with sweet quilts, but HG’s customer service and their insulation is the balm. I’m in love.
