Made a Trek out into the Far Eastern Desert of Oregon. Brought the T-dog hammock stand up. ( only tested its set up at home). Was tricky setting it up in the dark, Not correctly seeing the proper spread of the legs. Resulted in a slight delay. Once, set up in the soft desert sand. Was all I did to it. No leg support or Extra Guy wires to the set up.
Slept good!! Fell asleep looking at the Black night sky, with gentle Breeze to speed my sleep. Once the sunshine hit, HOT.. WAKE up No sleeping in. During the day, I used two Bungies to keep From flapping in the 20 MPH winds. Worked, Never Fell down.
Tis good reason "NOT" to sleep on the Dirt!!. Few times, during the night The need to water the bushes came. Grabbed head lamp, looked under Hammock for Snakes. Shake out my shoes, for spiders & Scorpions. Then Back to Hammock View the stars.. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz out till morning.
This Fellow showed up about 8 feet from Hammock. In the Morning, Shaken Shoes.. with a thump to the ground. ( knock any spiders, or scorps out Before slipping them on.).. Buzzzzzzzzzzz.. Buzzzzzzzzzz.. Oh OH... Grabbing Pistol off the Ridge line. Slowly made my way to the upright position.
No threat, but did take some photo's Prior to nudging snake to Go Buzz Buzz somewhere else.
Great camo, till it buzzes.. A good reason to always look before your drop your feet below hammock!!..
Another Very good reason to use a Hammock.. Snakes Fear heights & Hammocks. ;-)
