I really need to do a better job of paying attention to the username when I respond... Very good point Gresh!

Believe it or not, this is actually not the same hammock. The prototype is still in my possession. Apparently some of our customers have superb taste in colors. :P

I've only ever seen a DH in person once (MAHHA this Spring), so I cannot give a full side-by-side comparison. Also, HF rules are pretty restrictive about what I can and cannot say about other cottage vendor products. Rather than dance that line, we've decided to simply not compare ourselves to other vendors. You may feel free to contact us from our website for more information. Thanks!

Hey Playapixie! Great question! I lead me to realize that I had not yet populated the weights on our website, so I went ahead and did that. They're now available here... http://www.hammeck.com/hammocks/envy

These weights are generally estimates. I weighed a couple of the different options, and then took an educated guess at the others. These are the weights for the Peekaboo cover. If you go with the Peak cover, it'll come in probably about an ounce less.

    Thanks!

Looks very nice, I just got my first hammock (another brand), and then discovered this site. Are these made in the USA? I was disappointed to see that my hammock was made in China. The good news is I'm the kind of guy who likes several of the same thing so I will be buying another, I'm just not sure what one. I like your story and products.

Hey Koolranch! Yes, they are made in the USA. Mom and I do a majority of the sewing, right in our own homes. My wife also helps, and my brother makes the toggles and whoopies. We're teaching Dad how to do some of the crafting, but his biggest contribution is his ingenuity in simplifying processes.

Got my Envy over the weekend. Thanks to David for accommodating my schedule (I needed it by the end of this week) and answering the myriad of questions I had. It is a great product with great customer support. Will post pics once i hang, though David took some teaser shots and sent them to me.

    David,

What a great operation! You are very luck to be able to work with your family like that!
