Backwoods in Kansas City Event

Hey all...I wanted to let you guys know that Backwoods in Overland Park, KS is having a pretty huge event on Aug 9th. They're going to have a gear swap/sale, a pet adoption event sponsored by the SPCA, and the reason that I posted this here...they've asked me to come out and provide a hammock camping demo setup for this event as well.

I gave a class out there last Summer...had a lot of help from some fellow HF'ers (Ramenshaman, Hoot, Radiohead, and Trailboss!).

This year they're wanting me to setup a couple of hammocks, and basically do a question/answer series with folks as they walk through. I should be getting their online flyer soon, and will post it here with the mod's permission. I plan on setting up two turtledog stands...one with my HH Explorer setup, and another using gear from the store itself.

Anyone interested in coming by and talking hammocks is more than welcome to come!!!

Schedule permitting Owl, count me in. Backwoods donated a big box of stuff for our Typhoon Haiyan disaster response team back in November. Those folks are awesome. And I am always happy hang out with ya'll and talk gear.

Wanted to provide a bit more info. Here's the link to their event on Facebook. I don't have a ton more details, but it looks like I'll have two turtledog stands setup out there for demo purposes. One with my HHED setup, and one that I'll setup with gear pulled out of the Backwoods store so that folks can see what a setup from their shop might look like. It'll be outside this time, so should be safer...no slippery concrete floors for the stand legs to move around on!

Just as a reminder for anyone intersted in coming, this is in about a week and a half...Sat, Aug 9th, starting at 8am. I don't have much more information, but one thing to note is that folks who come out and setup a table get some pretty good discounts with Backwoods out of the deal as well.

If nothing else, come on by and help me convert some ground dwellers!

I'm easy to spot...I'm built like a fireplug, and have been told I sound like John Candy. LOL!

Cool....hoping to see you guys out there! I shouldn't be hard to spot...I'll probably have the only two turtledog style hammock stands out there!

Would be nice to meet some other "hangers" from here in the area...we do have an informal KC area hang coming up next weekend out by Clinton Lake if you're interested (check the midwest trip planning section on the forum for details).
