    Non symmetrical tarp.

I have had a Superfly for about 5 years and it has been a good tarp. On a recent trip the wind blew hard many days and I know one of these days I will need a new tarp. I have been thinking about what to get when a replacement is needed. I have a way of hanging my hammock 4 to 6 inches off the center line under the tarp. I will use this technique to offset the hammock away from the zipper side. This gives me and extra 4 to 6 inches of tarp covered space on the side of the hammock where I will get out. I have found this extra covered couple of inches is nice. I would like my next tarp to have one side wider than the other. The back side could be exactly like the superfly but the front side should be and extra foot or two. Does anyone presently sell such a tarp? Anyone see any problems with this idea?

Never seen one quite like that. The main trouble is that most tarps made by the cottage folk are made using the full possible width of the fabric as it comes from the mills. To get that extra you would end up with an extra seam where more fabric is sewn on to get you the additional width.....Now there have been some folks make tarps like that so it's totally doable but I don't know of any shops that are doing something like that.

Your are correct it would require 2 seams running the full length of the tarp.

Yeah, Jared already makes one like you describe but without doors. I'm sure it would be easy to add a couple doors if that's what you want.
