    Video: Overnighter at shades parts1+2

heres a quick lil video of some pics from my phone. did a quick overnighter at shades state park in indiana. 2.5 miles into backpack camping.. nice hike muggy but enjoyable..rain at three am thru walking out this morning.. lessons learned, well on e dont untie your ursak and put it under hammock to keep it from getting wet...racoon stoled my ursack with food and cook kit!!!! never did find it..lesson learned next is double check packing list, dont i will remember it when you leave..lol all good.. also packing is different when wet and take down is simple with slug tubes but they are wet on the outside.. last when you get ready to put everything in under the tarp flip your groundcloth over as it does become wet and muddy...enjoy hope to put together a part two...
And now part two the recap....

It's not the boulders that throw us off balance, it's the pebbles beneath our feet

Thanks for taking us along. I didn't even know Shades had any back country areas open to backpackers. Lovely park, been there several times in the distant past. They should do the same for Turkey Run.

A coon took your ursack? Man that sucks. I worry more about coon than bears and mtn lions.
Before I go to sleep I always tether everything you never know what might be hauled off in the night.

Thanks for sharing. Great choice of music. Sucks about your cook kit. Lately I've been hanging my food bag due mainly to coons and quill pigs.
