    Ditch ridge line?

I have been using my new Warbonnet Blackbird XLC. I am 6' 2" and got the XLC for the extra length. As you guys know, this hammock comes with a stock length ridge line. Being new to hammocks; It feels pretty comfortable but was wondering if it was worth taking the ridge line off and trying other lays. Have you guys experimented and had good luck? Or do you always end up back at the pre set ridge line length?

I have an adjustable UCR ridge line, i found my ideal angle was not at the common 30 degree's. I found mine more comfortable at another angle due to being tall though and the hammock not being long enough, so it is kind of a compromise. You have a footbox and a longer hammock, so there may not be any need at all, in fact that is the model i want and will probably have at a standard 30 degree hang..

I would say play around, although i don't know how the WBB is designed in relation to the angle and ymmv. Angle and comfort is subjective.

I haven't had my hands on an WB XLC, but there may be issues "lengthening" the RL if it will stress the net or cover.

Good point, never thought of that. It would work with it unzipped but not with it on. Thanks for the insight.

minor adjustments may help WBBB XLT RL

RL may come from WB (vendor) a little to tight or lose and need minor adjustment. Lay down in it and grasp with one hand and attempt to twist. You should be able to bend it a little but not a lot.
Perhaps gmcttr or others could explain better. I am mobile and it is difficult for me to search for videos and photos etc on how to adjust. Personally I think untying and re-tying the RL works just fine but some prefer an adjustable RL. Search for that. Everyone is different. Hammocks are a little frustrating due to all the adjustments but this is also what makes them so customizable and comfortable. Hope I pointed you in the right direction and did not confuse the issue.
