Question Should I Buy a ridgerunner?

I'm sorta looking for a hammock that'll be more comfy for my body type. Should I give the Ridgerunner a go?? Almost every gathered end hammock I've tried has the dreaded "calf ridge". Also, I am a side sleeper. I would like a bridge hammock, but am nervous for these reasons:

Superfly. How well does the ridgerunner fit under it???

Hammock Gear Incubator (short) will this work well with the ridgerunner???

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

edit: has anybody whatsoever experienced calf-pressure in the RR?

Yes yes and YES! And the SuperFly works great with it! You will not regret it. The only regrets I have is it not being my first hammock!

While I don't have a RidgeRunner, I have a bridge that's longer than it and my Superfly fits fine. I also down't own a short Incubator but a Te-Wa 2/3 length quilt and it too fits my bridge hammock fine. I've only seen the RR and it's a beauty. If you don't like it, you can always sell it here for a minor loss; consider it a rental fee.

I had the same issue with almost every hammock on the market and a few DIYs (EVEN OTHER BRIDGE HAMMOCKS THAT AREN'T A RR!). I bought a Ridgerunner and it was the best decision ever. The RR has none of the issues I had with any other hammock.

Without the tarp mod, the Superfly still works fine, you just have to pitch the A-frame a bit wider to accommodate the spreader bars of the hammock. Takes a bit more tweaking but it works.

Go for it. Worst case you can put it on the For Sale forum here and recoup your money if it doesn't work out for you (but I can almost guarantee it will).

+1! My favorite hammock hands down. Haven't tried my Phoenix on it, but have heard the HG quilts work fine. I use the lynx with mine and its the best quilt setup I've found.

    Cheers

+1 to what others have said. The RR is a great hammock - super comfy. Tarps aren't as easy as gathered end, but not really a problem either. The only thing I don't love about mine is trying to curl up in the fetal side position, which I like to do. The narrow part on the bridge makes that tough. That's why I still have a BB XLC in my rotation. The Ridgerunner is truly magical, though, and definitely a great solution if the calf ridge is a major problem for you.
