I made one for a friend. It was not too terrible big to pack. I would not want to pack it for 10s of miles a day unless I did not have anything else. The one I made stuffed down pretty nicely, not the smallest, but decent.

I have a double layer 90 X 156 with quad knotty mods and recently added u spreaders on each end. Wife and I sleep in it together. Love it.
Junebuddawn has made a couple of them I believe.
Directionally challenged...comicly so.
Not all who wonder are lost...But I'm probably just lost.
You can make one from part's available at Home Depot or Lowes. It's a combination of a U clamp, 2 long nut's, and 2 eye bolts.
I'm sure your tablecloth hammock will be great, but I wouldn't use a hammock that large for hiking. It's not only the hammock that adds to the pack weight, but also the larger tarp. When I used an 11' hammock the first time, after years in a 10' hammock, I found that I needed more space between trees to hang it, had to hang the suspension higher, and hang the tarp (with an 11' ridgeline) a lot lower to provide adequate coverage. I went back to my 10' hammock for hiking, because the difference in comfort wasn't huge. The disadvantages outweighed the advantages in my case. Also bear in mind, that comfort doesn't depend on hammock length alone. My 10' WBBB still has the best lay of all my hammocks, including bridge hammocks, provided I hang it right.
I sleep full time in one that size. It could be 20" or so narrower and be fine, the extra width just flops over.
It stays hanging in the bedroom, no way I would back pack with it.
I got the idea from the mini spreader bar thread here. I used a 12" all threads with couplers and eye bolts then the flat piece like goes on a u bolt. We like it. As far as weight heck I'm 6'6" and 275 or so. I don't do much ultralight work.
tableclothsfactory.com has 30% off and free shipping on orders over $50 today. Great time to get one, or two or three. Comes out to about $14.39 a peice.
"No whining in the woods"
I have one this size, but I took 24" off of the width. So it ended up being about 65" wide when I got done sewing the edge on it. I like it for relaxing in the yard not so much for camping. I don't think my superfly would cover it.
