For me it's a 3/4 underquilt from ukhammocks. I find it more comfortable, warmer in the sides and it supports this feeling of being nested in the hammock.
At home though, on the rare occasion that I sleep in my Brazilian cotton hammock, I use a simple ccf-pad. The uq doesn't fit this hammock. Also the pad doesn't slip around as bad as on nylon etc.

I got my new UQ and I'm camping this weekend.. I was looking forward to using the UQ, but it's supposed to be a low of 68 degrees... Never fails.. I'll take it along and use it anyway. I'll put it to the side, and pull it under if needed..

Pgibson got it on the nose.

Every year, the new crop of hammockforumites ask these sorts of questions....Don't get me wrong, I love them because it helps the other noobs with how many more per year can answer them with time under their belts and bottoms in the hammock.

Then, Shug comes out like an old western cowboy, looks at the noob, and fast as greased lightning, whips out a video for just the occasion. But, then he unloads his weapon with the remaining vids in his arsenal.

Keep the questions coming. There is always something new to learn.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

Which is what makes forums fun.. I've been camping for over 3 decades, but hammock camping for less than a month..
I've learned a great deal since that first night and look forward to learning more.

I have two Therm a-Rest rest pads from my cot days i am using in my hammocks, I found my army poncho liner and working on hook ups to use that inside. (the as makes the hammock cold) I will update you when it happens and how it worked,
I have used my Grand Trunks Hammock Bag, Went to bed 85F about 0400 woke up to 75 F...Went back to sleep under the bag not on top of it and woke up fresh and relaxed.
Taking all designers ideas, not looking to cut up the liner but might be a thought.
