    Bug net colour

Hi all...i am making a Fronkey / Cricket style bugnet...i will be using window coverings for the project...I've done some checking and know that black netting is preferred over white....my local WallyWorld did not have black in stock...being impatient I looked over the other colours I had it narrowed down to 2....taupe and grey...I chose grey...

Does anyone out there know of any advatages/disadvantages to using either colour? I've searched the web and can't find any info on it at all...

The advantages to using a darker color is because it's easier to see out of (with a darker color)

Light colors make it really hard to see out, because of the light they reflect. I've done white, OD green, and black nets.. I'll never use white again. During daylight, it's blindingly bright inside.

How did the OD work for you? Just in the event I find a similar colour before black...

Mine is OD and I don't mind it. Black might be easier to see out of though. I think I have a pic from inside the net. I'll try to remember to find it tonight.

Probably a silly question, but does anyone know if a dark colored bug net gets warmer inside in sunlight than a light colored one?

I've read here that there is some more heat retention with the black specifically with the window panel sheers....but it seems that it isn't enough to worry about...

I live near Ottawa Canada and I just can't seem to find black anywhere....grey will have to do

Thanks for the pic...I think that would work fine for me...looks really good....I don't think the grey I got would look much different...seems the Walmarts this way arent giving me an option

Here's hoping I don't burn out my retinas!

I've been doing a bit more reading on it and it seems that a few guys are saying that the sheers really do cut down on the airflow thereby slightly increase the internal temp...

It's funny but I bought netting from DIYgearsupply along with zippers and gg to make an integrated net when I made my hammock...but I just really prefer the simplicity of the Fronkey design...the less moving parts the better for me....If the sheers really do make it that much warmer I'm only out 10$ and I'll order more net from DIYgearsupply...

Ill post pics and the temp reading when I complete the task...should have time to do it this week
